 Choosing a colo
I have been researching colos to move my gear to and there seems to be so many options that I don't know how to choose. What are the key items to consider when choosing a colo? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

 Re: Choosing a colo
Thank you for your post. Some of the key considerations to think about are uptime, security, and support. You will want to look for a company that offers a 100% uptime of environmentals. HVAC/ Power/ Network are the environmentals that you will look for. If you are not going to have a full cabinet, you will want to make sure that the access to the cabinet is tightly controlled. You may want access to your equipment freely, but remember that if you are sharing a cabinet and you have access freely, so does someone else. It is good if the data center will provide you a high bandwidth connection to your equipment or console it for you. Smart Hands and Remote hands usually take the place of you needing direct access. If you do get access, most DC’s will escort you to your cabinet. Let me know if this helps you or if you have any more questions.
Thanks, EHale

Coffee too. If they don't offer free coffee, keep looking.
